Blackpool North Shore Golf Club

Trolley Policy

as Approved by the Greens Committee, Wednesday 13th January, 2010.

Background

The Greens Committee is acutely aware of the negative feedback from aspects of the membership over the recent introduction of a full ban on the use of electronic trolleys. This was instigated at the behest of the Course Manager in an effort to in particular protect the walkways between each green and tee. There is evidence that electronic trolleys, in seeking to obtain traction, tear the top surface and if repeated in a small area a muddy path way will very quickly evolve.

However in seeking to balance concerns over potential damage to the course with that of wishing to ensure all members enjoy their golf during the winter, the committee intends to remove the general electronic ban, introducing revised walk ways from green to tee, in the form of a roped off pathway.

Thereafter the following represent the Club’s policy on the use of trolleys during the winter months:-

Pull Trolleys - may be used at all times.

Electronic Trolleys - winter wheels- may be used at all times.

Electronic Trolleys - standard wheels- may be used other than in extreme conditions, ultimately at the discretion of the Course Manager.

Single Seater Sit On Buggies - may be used at all times for those with health conditions, as supported by a doctor’s note.

Two Seater Standard Buggies -banned throughout the winter, other than at the discretion of the Course Manager.

The Greens Committee would urge those that are not reliant on an electronic buggy to either carry their clubs or use a pull trolley whenever possible.

We trust you find the above agreeable.
