Thankyou to the Captain and President of the Club for their kind donation of a prize to the overall winner. John Creighton also won nearest the pin on the 9^th and a bottle of wine.

Well done to Bob Forsyth, who won the Bill Tait Match Play trophy as well as a voucher for £50. Graham Deaville was the runner-up and received £30.

Handicap changes for Tony Hanlon, Charlie Smith, Alan Brewster, Dennis Butterworth, Bob Manson,=UP= Alan Ogden and John Creighton= DOWN.

Next week is a 4BBB, played off yellows, Stableford and ¾ handicap. Those playing at Garstang on the 10^th September, pay the remaining amount of money (£11) on the day. Finally, well done to Bob Forsyth, who beat Graham Deaville in the final of the Bill Tait Quaiche Trophy Matchplay competition for 2013. Both will receive their prizes next week at the Captain and President meal.

A reduced competition unfortunately. One golf ball each for Barry Drummond and Mick O’Connell, both of whom had a 2 on the 9^th. Winning vouchers have been handed in to the Pro Shop.

Next week is the Senior Open on the Wednesday, so there is no competition on the Tuesday. The week after, on the 6^th August is a Four Man Team competition with 2 scores counting for holes 1-6, 3 scores for holes 7-12, all 4 scores for holes 13-18. It will be a Stableford from the yellow tees with ¾ handicap.

The Senior Captain’s Trip to Garstang is full, but I have managed to get an extra tee time to accommodate Ken Hulme, Graham Deaville, Brian Dudley and Tony Hanlon. I will collect £5 deposits from everyone by mid-August. If anyone wishes to be a reserve at the moment to step in if someone drops out, let me know as soon as possible.

Congratulations to Maurice Cashman for a hole-in-one at the 12^th and supplying many of the Seniors with a well-earned drink at the end of their round. Twos were achieved by John Creighton and Peter Pickstone. All receive golf balls. Amazingly I did not have to issue one to Dave Tait this week. He must not have been trying!!

Next week is the Senior Championship Round 2. The meal that follows will be at 5pm. The cost of the day is £12.50 for golf and meal. I have to give numbers to Giles by 10am on Monday 15^th July. Anyone unable to attend the meal must inform me by then; otherwise a full charge will have to be implemented. The competition will be a medal playing from the white tees, with scores to be put into the computer. There will be individual prizes for the day’s competition, as well as the overall winner, the runner-up and the best gross. Prizes can only be claimed at the meal. I hope you will all be able to support the Seniors’ captain and Vice-Captain on the day.
